Buying CBD on Amazon? Read this first

CBD oil from Amazon

The rise in popularity of CBD has led to considerable consumer confusion regarding where you can purchase this therapeutic remedy. Like many online shoppers, you may first gravitate towards buying CBD on Amazon. I don’t blame you. With Amazon’s next day prime shipping, and quick click purchases it’s no wonder why Amazon is the global leader in the online marketplace. However, a word of caution if you are considering buying CBD oil from Amazon.

The bottom line is Amazon does NOT sell real CBD oil. This may come as a surprise to many who see hundreds of listings for products on Amazon with labels like “hemp oil” or “hemp extract.” Let’s set the record straight once and for all. We will first start by explaining what the difference is between Hemp oil vs. CBD oil.

What is Hemp Seed Oil?

Hemp oil or Hemp seed oil is extracted from the seed of the hemp plant. It has been recognized as a health supplement for many years and although it does have some great benefits, it is NOT CBD oil. Hemp oil does not contain the vital Cannabinoids that are present in CBD oil. What are cannabinoids? Cannabinoids are the natural chemical compounds of marijuana and hemp plants that are derived from the plant material. Cannabinoids are the compounds that contain all the health benefits and the reason why CBD oil has been so effective at helping people with arthritis inflammation, anxiety, and other ailments.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD is one of the most popular cannabinoids along with THC. THC is the cannabinoid that gets you high, and CBD is the cannabinoid that helps you heal. CBD has sparked a new holistic health revolution because it is non-toxic, non-habit forming, and has a plethora of health benefits including help with anxiety, depression, pain management, seizures, and overall well being.

Health Benefits of CBD oil

These amazing health benefits are present only in the cannabinoids of the plant, not the seed. This is an important distinction when shopping for CBD oil, to make sure that what you are buying is actually really CBD oil and not Hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil is considerably cheaper and because it does not use plant material you will find it readily available on sites such as Amazon. There is nothing inherently wrong with hemp seed oil, it is just important to remember that hemp seed oil does NOT contain active cannabinoids so therefore it is NOT CBD oil.

Amazon does NOT sell CBD

The problem is that all the products listed on Amazon create confusion when consumers are led to believe that the listed products are actually CBD oil. Keep in mind that it is against company policy for Amazon to sell CBD. You will not find any real CBD from Amazon sellers. What you will find is thousands of sellers, listing Hemp oil products and trying to get you to believe that it is actual CBD.

So if you are shopping for CBD, please remember that you will not find any real CBD on Amazon. Instead, we recommend purchasing your CBD oil from organic certified USA manufacturers that maintain strict quality guidelines for purity and safety. You can shop for authentic CBD oil here and have the peace of mind that you are buying real CBD from real USA farms.

Does Amazon sell CBD oil?

In this article, we will be discussing a common question regarding whether it is safe or even legal to buy CBD on Amazon. The answer to this question is No. You cannot buy CBD oil on Amazon

So you may be wondering then why is it that when you type in “CBD oil” in the Amazon search box do you get hundreds if not thousands of product results? This is a great question.

The reason for this is that the products that are showing up on Amazon are something called Hemp Seed Oil. Hemp seed oil is NOT CBD oil.

This is very important to understand and something that may cause a lot of confusion. The products being advertised on Amazon may use terms like “Hemp oil,” or “Hemp extract” but this is not CBD. Although hemp seed oil is a great natural supplement, it does not contain the therapeutic health benefits that CBD oil has.

What is CBD?

CBD is one of the over 100+ active chemical compounds or cannabinoids that are found in the plant material of either Hemp or Marijuana. CBD has gained popularity over the years because of its therapeutic health benefits which can help with stress, anxiety, inflammation, and pain management. The holistic health community has fallen in love with CBD because of its effectiveness without the nasty side effects of traditional prescription pills.

Where does CBD come from?

CBD is extracted from either the Marijuana or Hemp plant. The 2018 Farm Bill passed in the U.S. helped to propel the CBD industry forward because American farmers are now able to farm and cultivate Hemp without any legal repercussions.

Prior to this bill, most of the U.S. CBD and Hemp-derived products were being imported from Canada. Now because of its legal status here in the U.S most CBD manufacturers are sourcing their CBD oil from Hemp because it is completely legal unlike Hemp’s cousin the Marijuana plant.

You can also derive CBD oil from Marijuana, but there are more restrictions because Marijuana has higher levels of THC. Due to this fact, if the CBD is extracted from Marijuana then you can’t buy it online, you can only purchase at your local medical marijuana dispensary.

Yes, CBD is legal in America

As long as the Hemp contains less than .3% of THC, then it is completely legal to be used to create all types of CBD products including tinctures, creams, gummies, etc. In case you’re wondering, THC is a chemical compound in Marijuana that gives you that euphoric or “high” feeling. The great thing about CBD is that it has less than .3% THC, which means you will never get high from taking CBD.

The passing of the 2018 Farm Bill has opened up the floodgates to hundreds of new CBD companies, manufactures, and brands jumping in to capitalize on this billion-dollar emerging health market. At the same time, this has created a somewhat grey area of misinformation and legality that has baffled many health consumers.

You can’t buy CBD on Amazon

One of the biggest areas of confusion is between CBD oil vs. Hemp oil. Amazon sellers are taking advantage of this confusion by listing their products as “hemp extract,” or “hemp oil” tricking consumers into thinking their products are actual CBD. Don’t be fooled!

If you’re looking to buy CBD oil on Amazon, you must know that Amazon does NOT sell CBD oil.  It is illegal and against their policies. Your best bet is to only purchase CBD oil from the authorized U.S. manufacturers that maintain the highest standards for safety and quality. You can find a comprehensive list of all the top U.S. organic Hemp-derived CBD oil manufacturers here.

A Brief History of CBD

Although CBD oil is getting plenty of mainstream attention, it doesn’t mean that it’s completely new. In fact, CBD has a long fascinating history. The first documented use of medicine derived from cannabis dates all the way back to 2737 BC. While the cannabis plant has been around for a long time, the recognition that it’s composed of unique compounds called cannabinoids is much more recent.

During the rise of modern medicine, Cannabis was largely unrecognized by the medical community due to the lack of scientific evidence of how it worked or even if it worked at all. In 1839 however, an Irish physician and medical researcher named William O’ Shaughnessy published a study exploring the effects of Cannabis. He also described possible medical applications of which helped set the stage for future research.

The Discovery of Cannabinoids

In 1940, chemist Robert Kahn identified the structure of the Cannabis plant in an individual cannabinoid called CBN. Then in 1942, American chemist Roger Adams and his colleagues successfully isolated a cannabinoid for the first time, Cannabidiol (CBD). Two years later, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) was isolated for the first time.

You will likely recognize THC as a psychoactive compound of the plant that causes euphoric effects. That’s going to be important later so please keep that in mind. Now once scientists understood that there were multiple cannabinoids and were able to isolate them, research into how individual cannabinoids worked quickly grew.

In 1946, Dr. Walters conducted tests using Cannabis on lab animals. We know that THC caused psychoactive effects on the animals while CBD did not. Then in 1963, Dr. Rafael McCullum took this research a step further and discovered the chemistry of CBD followed by the stereochemistry of THC. One year later this revealed a direct relationship between THC and the euphoric effects associated with cannabis and distanced CBD from the mind-altering compound.

Cannabis Stigma Stalls Research

Unfortunately, the stigma surrounding the Cannabis plant due to the psychoactive euphoric effects often caused by THC led to restrictions on the availability of Cannabis even for academic purposes.

It became very difficult to do research on Cannabis because possessing it even for academic purposes was prohibited for many years. Scientific research on Cannabis and CBD was held back.  While Cannabis research may have been hindered by stigma, it wouldn’t be defeated by it.

In 1978, New Mexico became the first state to pass legislation allowing the medical use of cannabis in some form. They did so through the Controlled Substance Therapeutic Research Act which allowed the use of Cannabis through a research program approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Then in 1996, California became the first state to legalize medical marijuana with the passing of proposition 215. Many other states soon followed suit, and with the legalization of medical marijuana came legal access to Cannabis and that allowed researchers to dive deeper into the study of CBD.

Current State of CBD

Let’s jump ahead to the current state of CBD.  The 2018 Farm Bill laid the groundwork for the legalization of cultivating hemp and its products such as CBD. This bill outlined the rules and regulations surrounding the growing and cultivation of hemp and that by law it must contain less than 0.3 percent THC. This means CBD is federally legal as long as it is hemp-derived and contains 0.3 percent THC or less.

With the widespread legalization of hemp-derived CBD,  has come renewed interest and CBD oil is now one of the most popular products in the health and wellness industry.

CBD is widely available and more and more research is being done. These studies will likely lead to more recognition of how CBD can help with people’s health and lifestyles. We’re confident that for many years to come, CBD will not just be a popular supplement, but one that offers a multitude of health benefits for all types of people around the world.

CBD oil Basics

CBD is the shortened way of saying cannabidiol which is a naturally occurring compound in Cannabis Sativa which is also known as a cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are only found in cannabis and most of the CBD that you’ll find on the market in Europe and in North America is actually extracted from Hemp.

Hemp is a type of Cannabis, and it contains very low amounts of THC with only .3% in the USA and .2% in Europe. Hemp is a very interesting plant. Not only does it have very strong fiber, but it also has incredibly nutritious hemp seed oil from its seeds and hemp protein. It’s also bioremediation which means that it sucks out contaminants from the soils. This is really important when you’re sourcing your CBD oil.

Ideally, your CBD should come from certified organic hemp because imagine if your hemp was grown on contaminated soil, it would be literally soaking up those contaminants, and then you’d be taking it in for your health which doesn’t make sense. CBD is non-intoxicating so you’re not going to get stoned. It is legal because it contains only very trace amounts of THC or sometimes none at all. The World Health Organization has declared it to be safe, non-toxic, and non-addictive.

For anyone new to taking cannabis or hemp products, it’s always a concern if you are going to get addicted. This is not going to happen with CBD. In fact, one of the areas that are being researched is using CBD to help people with cravings coming off their addictions.

What is CBD oil?

CBD oil could be described as a hemp extract so what that means is you have CBD because that’s the most abundant compound but you also have a host of other naturally occurring compounds that are found in hemp. There are also terpenes which are the aromatic molecules that are found in nature so not just in cannabis, it’s in all aromatic plants and flowers. Cannabis has a very distinctive smell, but it doesn’t come from the cannabinoids, it comes from the terpenes.

There are terpenes that are in cannabis but are also in other plants. For example, lionel which is found in lavender is responsible for the relaxing effect. Limonene which is found in citrus fruits has an elevating mood effect. You will also find some flavonoids which are powerful antioxidants.

With full-spectrum CBD oil, you’ll get all these kinds of molecules together which create a synergy which is known as the Entourage Effect. So using the movie analogy, you have the protagonist the main actor but you also need the rest of the cast and supporting actors for the movie to work. The same goes for CBD oil.  You’ve got the protagonist which is the CBD and then you’ve got its entourage of other players which are supporting its role and potentiating its effect.

Types of CBD oils

There is Full Spectrum, Broad spectrum, and CBD isolates. Full-spectrum has all the cannabinoids and terpenes intact, while broad-spectrum is exactly the same except all the THC is taken out. For those that are worried about coming up positive on a drug test, there is also a product called CBD isolate. CBD isolate has 0% THC and is essentially concentrated CBD. All the other cannabinoids and terpenes have been removed. Using this method, you will forgo the benefits of the Entourage Effect. If you are not concerned about taking a drug test then it is recommended to go with a Full Spectrum CBD oil.

How CBD oil can help bodybuilders

I’m gonna go over three ways that you can use CBD oil as a sports supplement to help in your bodybuilding training regimen. Many athletes are turning to CBD to aid with muscle recovery training and a fitness sports supplement regimen in general. My problem with this is that you see a lot of people touting some benefits that may or may not be true or they may be a little confusing. For now, we’re gonna get into the bodybuilding aspects of CBD.

Benefit #1

The first benefit is going to be anti-catabolic properties. To understand this better you should understand what cortisol is and how the levels affect your body. Cortisol is a hormone that reduces protein synthesis and actively prevents tissue growth so basically prevents your body from growing muscle tissue. Excessive cortisol levels are usually the culprit when those who workout diligently fail to achieve the muscle-building results expected from the rigorous fitness routine.

Cortisol levels are normally higher in the morning and they taper off towards the night time.  This explains why you actually recover better when you’re sleeping at night when cortisol levels are balanced. They can actually be beneficial to your body so taking both post and pre-workout CBD supplements can help maintain your cortisol levels when you’re doing a high-stress activity such as physical training.

Benefit #2

The next bodybuilding CBD benefit is going to be the fight-or-flight stress response. This response is the physiological reaction that occurs in the presence of something that is a threat or a challenge either physically or mentally. So I know what you’re thinking–a threat in the gym. How do I face threats when I’m in the gym?

The reality is your body doesn’t know the difference between someone approaching you to fight or where you’re looking at heavy weights on a barbell or you’re about to hit a PR on the bench or you’re going to put yourself through painful yoga.

Your body physiologically reacts the same way as if you were going to put yourself through a stressful workout versus if you were about to get into a fight. So physiologically, you’re gonna have a similar reaction.

In both examples, your body is going to have an increased heart rate, increased anxiety, higher blood pressure, and muscle tension.  It’s the sort of that feeling you get when you’re about to go lift something heavy. So how does CBD combat this stress response?

CBD helps activate receptors in your central nervous system that deals with the response to stress. With these receptors open, your mind/muscle connection increases tenfold.

Imagine when you’re going to do a squat and you’re going halfway down and you’re stuck. You don’t know if it’s a pain. If it’s muscle tightness, you don’t know what it is but you stop you take a deep breath.  You sort of reset yourself and then you could push all the way through and you continue with the reps.

That’s a perfect example to explain how CBD reacts towards your central nervous system.  It essentially relieves the tension and the anxiety that you get when you’re going through heavy or difficult movements.

Benefit #3

The third benefit is going to be how CBD can improve your quality of sleep. But does sleep have to do with what you’re doing in the gym?  When you get enough quality sleep, it gives your body time to recover, repair, and build muscle.

When you get quality sleep your body actually produces something called growth hormones. During our childhood, growth hormone actually helps us grow hence its name. As adults, growth hormone helps you build lean muscle and repair torn muscle that you break up when you train.

The growth hormone is essential for good athletic recovery. Most people think that you grow muscle while you’re in the gym but actually, that’s not the case. You grow muscle while you’re resting and while you’re sleeping at night.  So where does CBD play its role in your muscle recovery?

CBD helps you sleep because it can alleviate the symptoms that complicate sleep namely anxiety, stress, and pain. CBD relaxes your central nervous system giving your body a calming effect and can even help you with lower back pains and arthritis.

Using CBD may be helpful for improving sleep even if you don’t suffer from anxiety because CBD has been found to interact with the receptors in your body that actually regulate your sleep and wake cycles.  This prevents your muscles from breaking down which improves your training by increasing your mind muscle connection and helping you sleep better.

That’s how bodybuilders can benefit from using CBD as a supplement. Keep in mind this is to supplement everything else that you’re doing to promote a healthy lifestyle. Using CBD isn’t going to be a magic success pill. What CBD will do is help complement your existing lifestyle regimen and help your body achieve a state of balance or homeostasis which is the foundation of wellness. CBD’s positive effect on sleep, anxiety, and cortisol levels can help play an integral role in your bodybuilding journey.

Charlotte Figi’s impact on the CBD movement

The CBD movement really gained traction because of a girl named Charlotte Figi. She had a severe form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. Charlotte first started having seizures when she was only three months old. By the time Charlotte reached five, she was experiencing 300 grand mal seizures a week.

Her parents had tried every therapy they could think of by then and nothing worked. Charlotte had lost the ability to walk, talk, and her heart had stopped a number of times and doctors had lost all hope of helping this child. As a last resort, her parents decided to try medical marijuana with a small amount of marijuana called R4. It was low in THC but high in CBD.

The results were stunning. Charlotte started with a small dose of R4 and the seizures all but stopped. Then she started taking 3 to 4 milligrams of CBD oil per pound of her body weight with food.  Charlotte’s miraculous recovery from seizures using CBD oil inspired the creation of the CBD company called Charlotte’s Web

CBD studies have gained momentum

The last 5 years have shown a remarkable increase in publications on CBD mainly stimulated by the discovery of its anti-inflammatory antioxidant and neuroprotective effects.

These studies have highlighted a wide range of possible therapeutic effects of CBD oil with conditions like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, epilepsy, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis,  and other inflammatory diseases including nausea and cancer. Much of the evidence that we have with CBD and its benefits come from everyday users.

Some are backed by hard science and clinical trials, but it’s still early and CBD research and its effects on the body and the endocannabinoid system provide positive effects on just about everything including appetite anxiety and depression. Not to mention bone development, immune function, memory, pain perception, reproduction, and sleep.

CBD health benefits

Many CBD users report that when using CBD oil for the first time in years that pent-up stress and anxiety begin to fade. Many find that CBD is effective in relieving the symptoms of depression.  You should also experience an improved quality of sleep along with an overall improvement in mood.

Users report relief from pain caused by fibromyalgia arthritis, lupus, migraines, and back surgery. Several user reviews reported remission from several various types of cancer.  Several animal studies back up this anticancer benefit of CBD oil.

CBD seems to be effective in relieving the symptoms of bipolar manic depression. Others report the absence of seizures from epilepsy since starting CBD oil. Overall CBD oil offers a calming effect for those who tried it or use it consistently and many talk about their first good night’s sleep in years.

Now if you have done any research or have practical experience using CBD oil you know that a recommended dosage can vary depending on several variables. The dosage of CBD oil depends on you– on the condition that you’re treating, your body weight, and how your body reacts to cannabidiol. Dosage differs from one person to the next. The Mayo Clinic has provided recommended CBD dosage based on scientific research that you can find here.

The science behind why CBD works

What is CBD?

CBD is one of at least a hundred and twenty phyto-cannabinoids found in the cannabis sativa plant constituting around 40 percent of the plant’s active compounds.

Cannabidiol can be extracted from industrial hemp or synthesized in the lab.  Both hemp and marijuana are versions of the Cannabis Sativa plant.  Now the percentage of CBD in hemp plants by dry weight is lower than the percentage of CBD of some hybrids of medical marijuana plants.

But once the oil is extracted, the molecular structure of CBD is the same regardless of the source. Now CBD does not have the same mind-altering effects as the main plant compound THC.  In fact, CBD is able to counter the mind-altering effects caused by THC.

CBD extracts primarily come from the cannabis flower and leaves of the marijuana plant and from the flower leaves and stalks of hemp. Hemp oil comes from the seeds of the hemp plant but cannot offer the same therapeutic benefits as CBD oil.

This is important: CBD oil and hemp oil are NOT the same and should not be confused. You will not experience the same benefits as hemp oil as you will with CBD oil.

Please note that depending on the hybrid cannabis provides anywhere from four to thirty five percent of THC while hemp is regulated to contain less than 0.3 percent THC.

Cannabinoids as medicine

In 1999, the US Department of Health and Human Services obtained a patent for the neuroprotective effects of cannabinoids to protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and other forms of dementia.

CBD is anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-anxiety and provides anti-tumor properties among others.

CBD has been shown to have potential in the treatment of depression, neuro inflammation, epilepsy, oxidative stress, vomiting in nausea, anxiety, and schizophrenia.

CBD was first isolated in pure form in 1940 simultaneously from American hemp and Egyptian hashish. Since then much of the research has been conducted on THC compared to CBD likely because THC produces the mind altering effects and CBD does not alter your mind.

In fact, clinical studies and reports by ordinary neuro-hackers show that CBD can help prevent the psychotic-like effects induced by high doses of THC. Cannabis is native of Central and South southern Asia and has been used for millennia to produce hemp fiber for bowstrings, clothing, rope, livestock feed medicine, religious ceremonies, and recreation.

CBD science is catching up

People were using cannabis to get stoned thousands of years ago but it has only been in the last few years that scientists have begun to piece together how and what cannabis does to your brain.  Endocannabinoid is short for endogenous cannabinoid.

Endogenous means that it’s native to our bodies. The endocannabinoid system or ECS is a group of receptors located throughout your brain and body and consists of signaling molecules in their receptors.

The EECS is involved in various processes including appetite, mood, memory, pain sensation, stress response, energy balance, metabolism, and even female reproduction.

The Endocannabinoid System

Now the two primary endocannabinoid receptors are cb1 and cb2. Cb1 receptors are found primarily in the brain and central nervous system. It is the main molecular target of the endocannabinoid and anandamide which is produced in your body and the THC you get from cannabis.

The other main endocannabinoid is 2 AG which is also produced in your body and CBD which you get from cannabis. Both 2 AG and CBD are active at both the CB1 and CB2 receptors but CBD cannot directly bind with the CB1 receptor like THC can.  CB2 receptors are mainly expressed in immune cells in your body.

The overall function of the ECS is to maintain balance of the nervous system. Normally we think of neurotransmitters as moving in the direction of synaptic firing. In other words it’s moving from the sending neuron to the receiving neuron to produce some action.

Endocannabinoids, on the other hand, are unique because they act more like retrograde neurotransmitters. They act in the opposite direction of synaptic flow. Endocannabinoids and the synapse temporarily reduced the amount of neurotransmitter released from the sending neuron meaning the receiving neuron exerts control over the amount of neurotransmitter that it receives.

Now let’s circle back to cannabis. CBD and THC are collectively known as cannabinoids and both interact with CB1 and CB2 receptors in your body and brain. THC can talk directly to the CB1 receptor but not see CBD.

Instead, CBD increases the activity of the native endocannabinoid system by increasing cannabinoid receptor density and by inhibiting FAA which is our fatty acid amide hydrolase which increases levels of endocannabinoids like the Bliss molecule anandamide.

CBD is also an agonist of the 5HTA serotonin receptor. So the combination of increasing anandamide in serotonin activity likely provides the anti-anxiety and antidepressant effects of CBD.

CBD can relieve anxiety

CBD oil is anti-anxiety. Human and animal studies show that CBD works as an anxiolytic. The first human study was published in 1982 on the interaction between CBD and THC. The study worked with eight healthy volunteers with a mean age of 27 years.

The participants had not used cannabis in the previous 15 days. In this double-blind procedure, the volunteers received CBD, THC, CBD + C + THC, diazepam,  or a placebo in different sequences in days.

The results show that the increased anxiety following the administration of THC was significantly reduced with the simultaneous administration of CBD. That is the combination of THC and CBD.

Several other studies with humans have since been conducted to determine how CBD produces this anti-anxiety effect.  The consensus appears to be that CBD alters blood flow in specific areas of the brain. One study had healthy volunteers using 400 milligrams of CBD or a placebo in a double-blind trial.

The researchers concluded that CBD significantly reduced anxiety. The study found that CBD increases activity in the left parahippocampal gyrus and decreased activity in the left amygdala hippocampus complex including the fusiform gyrus. This pattern of spec results is what is normally associated with the anxiolytic action.

CBD can help with depression

Second, CBD oil is antidepressant. Reviews of many who regularly use CBD oil report its antidepressant effects. Studies have shown that CBD inhibits 5h t18 serotonin receptor activity which would raise levels of serotonin and provide an improvement in mood.  But there is also speculation among the scientific community that CBD also provides its antidepressant effects by increasing levels of endocannabinoids like anandamide likely by inhibiting their breakdown.

Other studies have shown that CBD facilitates other actions in the brain both in humans and animals that could contribute to an improvement in mood including modifying the function of several receptors such as cb1 and cb2, GPR 55,  TRPV1 and 5h t1a receptors.

CBD also inhibits FAAH,  the enzyme which increases levels of the bliss molecule anandamide and inhibits the adenosine transporter which would increase levels of adenosine. This all possibly contributes to a better mood and a decrease in depression.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

Today I want to talk to you about one of the most common questions that we get. Will CBD trigger a positive drug test? The simple answer to that is yes. Yes, it is very possible and there’s a lot of misinformation out there telling you that you can take their CBD product and not fail the drug screening. The only way that is possible is if they are selling you a CBD isolate

When you take a drug test for marijuana, they’re looking for the compound THC. So even though CBD contains 0.3% THC or less, the chances of it showing up in a drug screening are very slim especially if you’re an athlete and a fit person with low body fat that’s working out a lot.

Sedentary lifestyle can effect test results

The process of sweating is basically flushing that out of your system on a continual basis but at the same time if you’re taking it on a regular daily basis especially in high doses it can build up in your system over time. What this means is people who might be sedentary and slightly overweight have more body fat and those people are more likely to trigger a positive on a drug test.

But the reality is that it’s possible to test positive for THC regardless of your metabolism or activity level. Keep in mind that if you decide to take CBD oil and if you have to pass a drug screening on a regular basis or random testing for work, you could trigger a positive so be aware of that.

I also encourage my readers to have conversations with their employers especially if you’re wanting to get off from super pharmaceutical medications or have been struggling with chronic pain.  Let them know what you want to do and maybe they’ll work with you depending on who your employer is.

CBD isolate will minimize the risk

So now let’s talk about some of the solutions. If you’re wanting to take CBD but are so concerned with the drug screening and you don’t want to risk it you should look into a CBD isolate. Make sure you look at the lab reports and check to see if their cannabinoid profiles are actually present and it contains CBD. Secondly, make sure it’s clean and there’s no residual solvents, no pesticides, and make sure it’s grown organically.

Read labels and verify test results

Do all the research you would normally do when buying a full spectrum CBD and do that with a CBD isolate as well. That being said, you can still fail a drug screening with the CBD isolate but it’s a very slim chance. I have to make that statement just in case one of you goes out there and gets a CBD to isolate and still triggers a positive. But the chances are extremely slim especially if you verify the lab results to prove that there is 0% THC detected.

I hope you found this information beneficial and I hope it shed a little bit of light on this industry as a whole. The CBD industry is still in its infancy and although there is some regulation, with time more extensive studies and regulations will be in place to further protect the public. Until then, please do your research by analyzing the labels and verifying the test results.
