What Is CBD?

Full-Spectrum CBD – This CBD product contains the terpenes, essential oils, other cannabinoids, and plant material. Full-spectrum products can contain trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%). 

Broad-Spectrum CBD – This is like full-spectrum CBD products, but with one big difference. All the THC has been removed. You get the benefits of a full-spectrum CBD product without any chance of consuming THC.  

What Is the Entourage Effect and How Does It Work? 

When you use full-spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD products, you’re not only getting the CBD, but you’re also getting trace amounts of other beneficial cannabinoids, terpenes, essential oils, and plant material. 

Terpenes are responsible for the smell and taste of different cannabis strains. It’s terpenes that make cannabis smell and taste sweet, spicy, and citrusy, to name a few.

Some of the most abundant terpenes are myrcene, limonene, linalool, caryophyllene, and pinene. 

Studies have shown than when you use a full-spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD oil product, the effects of the CBD can potentially be boosted or become more productive.

This is known as the entourage effect, and anecdotal reports from thousands of cannabis users around the world suggest that the entourage effect is an essential part of the entire CBD process. 

The effects of essential oils have been used for thousands of years, and it’s the terpenes in different plants and trees that give them their unique aroma and taste. It’s not unusual for a plant to have multiple terpenes present, but they usually have one or two that are the most dominant. 

It’s believed that terpenes are responsible for why some strains of cannabis appeal to you, and others don’t. It could potentially be your body’s way of letting you know which terpenes or strains it needs the most.
