How fast does CBD start working?

Sometimes people want to know how long it takes for CBD to work. This is a great question that’s hard to answer because it’s dependent upon a variety of factors including age, weight, and metabolism.

Another important factor that contributes to how fast it takes for CBD to work is the method by which you ingest CBD into your body. The more popular methods include edibles, oils, e-vapes, and flowers.

If you take a capsule, it has to go through your digestive tract and has to be processed through your liver before it enters the bloodstream so that’s going to be anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours before the CBD can take effect.

Taking CBD oil under your tongue gets into the body much faster and you can experience results in as little as 15 to 20 minutes.

Now the other thing to think about is why are you taking CBD oil. If you just have some mild anxiety, mild tension–maybe you’re just upset from work all day long and you want to take a dose, then that’s a great way to start experiencing the benefits of CBD oil.

However, if you have a more serious illness or a condition that you deal with every day on a regular basis, that’s not something that CBD oil is going to fix in an instant.

That’s where you have to really think about what you’re doing and you have to start out with a plan. You have to take it on a regular basis, it’s best to take it about the same time every day because your body gets used to it.

So you take it every day and you go for maybe a week and if you don’t feel a difference, you might want to increase your dose. Don’t do it fast and don’t do it irresponsibly because maybe it might make you too sleepy and you might decide well this isn’t working so I don’t want it.

Definitely have a plan for starting any CBD oil regimen and have a discussion with your doctor as CBD oil may interact with some of your existing medications.

Another thing to think about too is how old you are. Folks that are older have livers and kidneys and bodies have had a lot more wear over the years than a younger person. So there may be some differences in how fast you feel the effects.

If you’re one of those folks that’s blessed with a fast metabolism then you may metabolize it quickly and you may have to dose several times a day.

If you’re serious about CBD oil and if you’re serious about taking it for a condition that bothers you every day you have to be patient and you have to be observant and you have to engage with the CBD.

You need to pay attention to when you’re taking it.  You may want to take it with food, you may want to take it after a high-fat meal.  There’s all kinds of different ways that you can take this so be prepared to participate in your own health care when you’re working with CBD oil.
